Want to still make progress without a gym?
No one wanted to be in this situation but now that we are here, it is time to make the most out of it. For many of us, the gym has served as outlet, a place where we could conquer our demons and become something more. Whether it be getting bigger, stronger or leaner, we all have our fitness goals.
Understandably, now that the majority of gyms will be closed for the foreseeable future, many have found themselves wondering what is next. Well, when life gives you lemons, you hit a damn PR. At Kizen, we collectively have between us over 30 years of coaching experience. Believe it or not you can STILL make progress without a barbell.
This program will pull you slightly out of your comfort zone, in terms of the exercises you do and the rep ranges you utilize. This is completely ok! The great news is that while this might be a slight change of pace for your training, we are quite confident that our new home workout program will greatly assist with your goals.
There are a few caveats and we should explain them before we go on. Strength IS a skill. If you squat 600lb and due to gyms closing down, you can't squat for 3-4 months, in the short term, your squat WILL go down. For advanced lifters, don't be expecting to hit all time strength Prs following a largely body weight program. We need to be realistic.
On the other hand, for body composition and hypertrophy, these routines will be quite effective. In fact, depending upon your overall level of fitness, you can continue to make sustainable progress! Adaptability is a highly underrated skill and our job as coaches is to help you continue along your journey to a better you.
To facilitate this, this new at home workout series is quite comprehensive. Included in the program is:
- Exercise tutorials for every single movement so you know exactly what to do and how to best perform each new movement
- A diet guide to help you figure out your ideal caloric intake for your goals. Many practical tips are given on how to adjust your intake based on activity, how to stay regimented and more
- A macro calculator to assist with the above
- TWO full 12 week programs. The first assumes you have access to zero equipment and is truly body weight. The second assumes you have some dumbbells/resistance bands at your disposal. This way, no matter what equipment you have, you can still get the results you are after
You can lament your gym closing. Go ahead, pour one scoop of creatine out for the loss. What is important is what you do right now.
